A photo book by David George, published by Museums etc.
“When I step into a new landscape my first question is: why does is look like this? For me, the answer reflects where we are as a society.”
This collection brings together two projects in which David George produced over 4,000 images. “Imperfect” features long exposure nighttime photographs in which beautifully vibrant colour exposes the artificiality of the landscapes documented. His monochrome photogravures, made using the 19th century intaglio method, offer a snapshot of moments held in suspension by the time consuming printing process. Both techniques required the artist to surrender control resulting in imperfect representations of the evolving landscape within which his practice is situated.
Photograph Arts aims to create accessible and frequent opportunities for artists to exhibit and promote their work across London. We aim to reflect and respond to issues of social justice, representation, and human rights. We are also committed to sustainability, repurposing community-run spaces and reimagining what constitutes an exhibition space. We believe that by connecting artists of all disciplines and career levels through our programme, we can deepen the sense of community within and access to London's art scene.
